In de Hard Bass editie van b2s magazine vind je interviews met Headhunterz en Wasted Penguinz. Headhunterz, die al voor de vijfde keer op Hard Bass mag draaien, vertelt hierin over de voorbereidingen die hij doet, zijn ultieme Hard Bass gevoel & beleving en wat hij van Hard Bass: reclamation verwacht. Wasted Penguinz gaan in hun interview in op het ontstaan van de DJ formatie, de totstandkoming van hun tracks en over de toenemende populariteit.

Headhunterz, who  will perform at Hard Bass for his fifth time, tells you about the preparations he needs to do, his ultimate Hard Bass feeling & experience and what he expects of Hard Bass: reclamation. Wasted Penguinz’ interview is about how their DJ formation came together, how they put their tracks together and the increasing popularity.

Een openhartig gesprek met Headhunterz over zijn Hard Bass gevoel

‘Ik ervaar Hard Bass als een bezoeker’

Het lijkt wel of b2s patent heeft op live-sets van Headhunterz. Voor de vijfde keer in de historie draaide Headhunterz op Hard Bass, waarvan drie keer een live-set. “Ik ben heel selectief in het draaien van live-sets. Hard Bass heeft een speciaal plekje in mijn hart, waardoor ik bij Hard Bass altijd een goed gevoel krijg als het om live-sets gaat.”

De voorbereiding van een live-set kost veel tijd, ook voor de nummer 11 van de DJ Mag Top 100. Het drukke schema van Headhunterz laat het nauwelijks toe om een live-set voor te bereiden en te draaien. Voor Hard Bass maakt hij graag een uitzondering. “Het is een uitdaging om mijn muziek een aparte Hard Bass twist te geven. Als ik aan het evenement denk, krijg ik een speciaal gevoel. Op Hard Bass moet je goed kunnen dansen, dus daar wil ik mijn tracks net even wat anders op aanpassen.”

Hoe krijgt een artiest die op zoveel verschillende evenementen draait, uitgerekend bij Hard Bass een speciaal gevoel? Over die vraag hoeft Headhunterz niet lang na te denken. De twinkeling in zijn ogen verraadt dat de uitspraak recht uit zijn hart komt. Hij meent het. “Dat gevoel is ontstaan toen Hard Bass naar het Gelredome verhuisde. Sindsdien heb ik speciale herinneringen aan het evenement. Als artiest kan ik me ongestoord tussen het publiek begeven. Ik word niet besprongen, maar ik word juist gerespecteerd doordat ik ook als bezoeker wil genieten van de muziek op Hard Bass. Die saamhorigheid geeft mij zo’n speciaal gevoel.”

Ultieme beleving
De herinneringen zijn van grote invloed op de voorbereiding van Headhunterz op Hard Bass. “Hard Bass geeft de kern van een hardstyle-evenement weer. Er heerst een sterke verbondenheid tussen de mensen onderling.” Om de ervaring van bezoekers op Hard Bass te beleven, duikt Headhunterz bij iedere editie zelf zoveel mogelijk de zaal in. Niet alleen uit liefhebberij voor de muziek, dat overigens wel een zeer grote rol speelt, maar ook ter voorbereiding van zijn set.

“Door Hard Bass vanuit de zaal te beleven, weet je precies vanuit welk perspectief bezoekers het evenement ervaren. Die ervaring neem ik mee op het podium, dat voegt zoveel extra’s toe aan de beleving van mijn set. Ik voel me dan echt thuis op het podium. Als ik van te voren niet in de zaal ben geweest, is mijn gevoel op het podium minder prettig.” Headhunterz is een gevoelensmens. Het is daarom ook niet verwonderlijk dat Headhunterz en Hard Bass een gelukkig huwelijk vormen. De combinatie van het Hard Bass gevoel – passie voor de muziek en de ultieme beleving daarvan – en de muzikale dedication van Headhunterz zorgt al jarenlang voor een ijzersterke band.

Podium voor talenten
Als geen ander weet Headhunterz hoe belangrijk het is om als talent een podium te krijgen. In 2007 kreeg de destijds 21-jarige Headhunterz de kans om een live-act op Hard Bass te draaien. “Dat was een belangrijk moment in mijn carrière. b2s gaf me een podium om me te laten doen wat ik graag wilde: mijn muziek draaien voor een groot publiek. Ik weet nog dat ik de drang had om mezelf als Headhunterz te presenteren. Toch was ik er redelijk nuchter onder. Ik liet me meevoeren in de positieve flow waar ik in zat.”

Headhunterz juicht het toe dat b2s ook op een groot evenement als Hard Bass talenten en opkomende dj’s toevoegt aan de line-up. “Dat is heel belangrijk. Talenten worden hierdoor extra gestimuleerd om door te gaan op de ingeslagen weg.” De aanwezigheid van headliners in de line-up is voor de talenten van wezenlijk belang vindt Headhunterz. Zij vormen een de rode draad in de line-up en zijn belangrijk in de support en ondersteuning van de getalenteerde nieuwe aanwas.

Met zijn podcast Hard With Style heeft Headhunterz zich opgeworpen als ambassadeur voor nieuwe namen in de scene. Onder andere Bass Modulators, die deel uitmaakten van formatie Yellow waar Headhunterz ook onderdeel van was, werden in Hard With Style regelmatig gesteund. Headhunterz geniet ervan om talenten te helpen met de opbouw van hun carrière. Hard With Style staat daarom in 2013 nog meer in het teken van samenwerkingen met opkomende dj’s.

Hard Bass 2013
Het jaar 2012 kon niet meer stuk voor Headhunterz. Hij hoopt die lijn door te zetten in het nieuwe jaar. “Hard Bass was een goede start van 2013. Volgens mij hebben we dat allemaal goed gevierd, haha!” Hij kijkt met een goed gevoel terug op de voorbereiding. “Het was leuk om weer eens wat oude projecten te openen om daar iets vernieuwends mee te doen. Iedere keer vroeg ik mezelf af: ‘Hoe kan ik deze track Hard Bass maken?’ Mijn eigen ervaringen, zoals ik die eerder in dit verhaal beschreef, waren leidend. De edits die jullie hebben gehoord, heb ik gemaakt vanuit het bezoekersperspectief. Ik heb me ingeleefd in hoe de track over zou komen als bezoeker. Het dansgehalte moest hoog zijn. Ik heb overigens nog een nieuwe remix op Hard Bass gedraaid. Daar kan ik nu helaas niet al te veel over zeggen, maar verdere informatie volgt!”

Wat Headhunterz wel definitief kan bevestigen – en waar hij via Twitter al een topje van de sluier oplichtte – is de samenwerking met Geck-O. “Hij heeft een aparte stijl, heel speels en vrij, met een goed gevoel voor ritme. Dat ritmische aspect is een waardevolle toevoeging aan hardstyle. Het maakt onze samenwerking naar mijn mening zeer interessant en leuk.”

Een ding is zeker: we kunnen nog veel verwachten van Headhunterz in de toekomst. “Tot slot wil ik van de mogelijkheid gebruikmaken om te benadrukken dat ik het een hele eer vond om weer een editie van Hard Bass met jullie te delen. Ik hoop dat jullie het feest net zo goed hebben ervaren als ik. Bedankt voor jullie support!”

Heart-to-heart with Headhunterz about his Hard Bass sensation

‘Hard Bass feels like a visitor to me’

It’s as if B2S has a patent on Headhunterz’ live sets. It’s already the fifth time in history that Headhunter performs at Hard Bass, three of which have been live. “I’m very selective when it comes to performing live on stage. Hard Bass has this special place in my heart that makes me feel really good about live sets.”

Preparing for a live set takes lots of time, even if you’re number 11 in the DJ Mag Top 100. Headhunterz’ busy schedule hardly permits any preparation for a live set. But Hard Bass is an exception. “Giving my music that special Hard Bass twist is a challenge. And thinking of the event, gives me that special tingle. Hard Bass is all about being able to dance to the max, so I want my tracks to fit in.”

How is it possible that an artist who performs at so many different events gets this special sensation at Hard Bass? Headhunterz doesn’t take long to answer that question. The twinkle in his eyes gives away that he speaks from the heart. “That feeling grew when Hard Bass moved to Gelredome. I’ve had special memories about the event ever since. I can easily be amongst the audience without being harassed. Instead they respect the fact that I want to enjoy the Hard Bass sound as a visitor. That unity amongst the crowd gives me that exceptional feeling.”

Ultimate experience
Those memories influence Headhunterz’ preparation in a large sense. “Hard Bass represents the core of hardstyle events. There’s a strong connection between the people.” Every time he’s at the event, Headhunterz dives into the audience to fully live that Hard Bass feeling. Not only because of his love for the music, but to prepare himself for the set.

“Experiencing Hard Bass in the area itself means understanding the event from the point of view of the audience. I take that experience with me on stage. It adds so much more to my set, because it makes me feel at home on stage. If I haven’t been among the people, I really feel less at home.” Headhunterz is a sentimentalist. No wonder why the artist and Hard Bass have been happily married for a long time already. His dedication and the Hard Bass feeling – passion for hardstyle and experiencing it to the fullest – have been a strong connection for years.

A stage for talent
Headhunterz knows best how the importance of giving the stage to real talent. In 2007, then 21 years old, he was offered the opportunity to perform live at Hard Bass. “It was a memorable moment in my career. B2S gave me a stage to do what I really wanted: play my music in front of a large audience. I remember the urge to present myself as Headhunterz, but I was quite down-to-earth despite of it. I just went with the positive flow.”

Headhunterz applauds the fact that B2S adds upcoming talent to the Hard Bass line-up. “This is a crucial element. This motivates those talented guys to continue what they’re doing.” He believes having headliners in the line-up means a lot. They’re the core of the line-up and play a vital role in supporting new talent.

With his podcast ‘Hard With Style’ Headhunterz volunteered as ambassador of those new names in the scene. Hard With Style supported, for example, Bass Modulators, whom were part of the Yellow formation with Headhunterz. He enjoys helping those talented men build up their career. That’s why Hard With Style will feature even more upcoming DJ’s in 2013.

Hard Bass 2013
2012 was his year. Headhunterz hopes to continue this flow in 2013. “Hard Bass is an excellent start for 2013. I think we all partied to the max, haha!” In retrospect he’s satisfied with the preparation. “It was fun opening up old projects and adding something new. I asked myself: ‘How can I turn this track into Hard Bass?’. My own experience led the way, as I previously explained. I created my edits from the audience’s point of view. I tried to imagine what the audience would feel when hearing the track. It should definitely get the people dancing. By the way, I did another new remix at Hard Bass. Can’t tell you too much about it now, but more info will follow soon!”

However, Headhunterz can confirm his collaboration with Geck-O, which was already slightly revealed on Twitter. “He has this distinctive, playful and liberating style with a great sense of rhythm. That rhythm is valuable to hardstyle and adds a lot to our partnership.”

One thing is certain: there’s a lot to be expected from Headhunterz in the upcoming future. “I’d like to take the opportunity to emphasize that it was a real honour sharing this Hard Bass issue with you all. I really hope you had the same experience as I did. Thanks for all your support!”

Wasted Penguinz: euforische Hardstyle met een boodschap

De unieke, euforische sounds die het publiek meenemen in een trance. De emotie die loskomt bij het horen van ‘Melancholia’ of ‘Within’. De meeslepende teksten met een diepere betekenis, die uit volle borst worden meegezongen. Het is tijd voor een verdere kennismaking met pioneers op het gebied van euforische Hardstyle. Maak kennis met Wasted Penguinz.

In 2006 leren Pontuz Bergman en Jon Brandt-Cederhäll elkaar kennen via een forum op internet. De Zweden maken in die periode allebei al muziek. Pontuz onder de naam Teequee, Jon gebruikt de alias Dan-J. De mannen hanteren ze een soort trance-achtige sound, die in de hedendaagse producties van Wasted Penguinz nog steeds te herkennen is. Via het forum raakt het duo aan de praat en al snel ligt het idee op tafel om samen muziek te produceren.

Pontuz: “In 2007 maakte ik mijn eerste Hardstyletrack, die daarna op vinyl werd uitgebracht. Vervolgens heb ik Jon erbij betrokken. Hij voelde zich er goed bij en zo zijn we eigenlijk in de Hardstyle beland.” Dat leidde in 2008 tot de oprichting van Wasted Penguinz. Die naam doet meer denken aan een rauwe Hardstyleact, maar niets is minder waar. “De naam is ontstaan tijdens een avond in de studio, waarbij we al het nodige bier hadden gedronken. We waren destijds vrij wasted, toen we in een brainstorm terecht kwamen over welke naam we wilden gebruiken. Het moest een naam worden waarmee we de aandacht van het publiek konden trekken. Mensen moesten nieuwsgierig worden naar onze muziek, dat was het doel. Er kwam vanalles voorbij: Wasted Rabbitz, Wasted Donkeyz. Alles wat wasted kon zijn hebben we geprobeerd. Totdat we uit het niets de naam Wasted Penguinz bedachten. We keken elkaar aan en wisten meteen dat we ons zo wilden noemen. Het was een ongewone naam en dat was precies de bedoeling.”

Daar waar het bedenken van de naam nog enigszins moeite kostte, ging het met produceren snel goed. Over de stijl – die bij het horen van de eerste toon direct te herkennen is – waren beide mannen het vanaf de eerste minuut eens. “We wilden euforische Hardstyle maken en dat doen we nog steeds. Er zit altijd een boodschap of bericht achter een track. Dat hoeft niet zozeer tekstueel te zijn, maar dit kan ook puur het geluid zijn. Luister bijvoorbeeld naar ‘Melancholia’. Die track gaat over een depressie waar geen einde aan lijkt te komen.”

Emotie
Emotie is de rode draad in de producties van Wasted Penguinz. ‘Melancholia’ en ‘Far From Reality’ zijn goede voorbeelden van tracks die het publiek meenemen in een trance. Het duo is zelf erg gevoelig voor emotionele invloeden. Een van hun belangrijkste doelen is om die emotie over te brengen op het publiek. “We krijgen vrij vaak berichten van mensen die ergens mee zitten – een gestrande relatie of iets dergelijks – en die hun emotie vervolgens kwijt kunnen in onze muziek. Dat doen we zelf ook”, aldus het duo.

De overeenkomst met een grote inspirator van Wasted Penguinz, componist Hans Zimmer, is snel gevonden. Zimmer staat bekend om zijn meeslepende en doorgaans emotionele filmmuziek. “We luisteren enorm graag naar zijn muziek. Het geeft ons veel inspiratie tijdens het produceren. We luisteren allebei sowieso naar veel verschillende soorten muziek. Van klassieke muziek tot dance, we staan overal voor open en dat leidt tot nieuwe ideëen en inspiratie.”

Toenemende populariteit
De specifieke Wasted Penguinz sound verspreidt zich steeds meer als een olievlek over de aardbol. Dat leidde vorig jaar tot een 75e plaats in de DJ Mag Top 100, de meest prestigieuze rankschikking voor producers/dj’s. De notering is tekenend voor de toenemende populariteit van het duo.

Ook in Nederland zijn Wasted Penguinz steeds vaker te bewonderen op evenementen. Het eerste b2s-evenement waar het duo te bewonderen was, brengt ons terug naar Euphoria in de Central Studios in Utrecht op 12 mei 2012. Net als op Hard Bass Reclamation stond Wasted Penguinz vroeg op de avond geprogammeerd.

Samen met Code Black, Zany en Noisecontrollers vormt Wasted Penguinz de openingsformatie van Hard Bass Reclamation. Het is hun eerste evenement met een publiek van bijna 30.000 man op hetzelfde moment. De samenwerking in een team is – net als het evenement zelf – nieuw voor Wasted Penguinz. “Het wordt erg leuk om met de andere jongens samen te werken. Iedereen zorgt ervoor dat zijn eigen sound naar voren komt in de set, waardoor het een mooi afwisselend geheel wordt.”

Met een optreden op Hard Bass achter hun naam wordt weer een stukje van de jongensdroom van Wasted Penguinz vervuld. Een droom die ze vanaf het begin continu hebben nagejaagd. “Dat is ook de boodschap die we onze fans willen meegeven. Geloof in je dromen en ga daar met volle overtuiging voor. Zo hebben wij ook gedacht en dat heeft ons gebracht op de plek waar we nu zijn.”

Wasted Penguinz: euphoric Hardstyle with a meaning

The unique, euphoric sounds that take the crowd in a state of trance… The release of emotion when hearing ‘Melancholia’ or ‘Within’… The compelling lyrics that have a deeper meaning, repeated by the entire audience… It’s time we sat down with the pioneers of euphoric hardstyle. Meet Wasted Penguinz.

It was the year of 2006 when Pontuz Bergman and Jon Brandt-Cederhäll got to know each other through an online forum. The Swedish men were both actively producing records; while Pontuz was working with stage name Teequee, Jon was known as Dan-J. The trance-like sound used by both men is still traceable in the current Wasted Penguinz productions. It was on the forum that the two started talking and it didn’t take long for a collaboration to hit the table.

Pontuz: “I produced my first hardstyle track in 2007, which was then released on vinyl. After that Jon quickly got involved in the process. He immediately felt at home and that’s basically our story of we got into hardstyle.” This led to the founding of Wasted Penguinz in 2008. One might think of raw hardstyle when hearing this name, but this is far from the truth. “The name arose after a night in the studio with lots of beer. We were pretty wasted when we dove into this brainstorm on a name. The name should draw attention, evoke curiosity about the music; that was our goal. We went from Wasted Rabbitz to Wasted Donkeyz. Anything that involved ‘wasted’ passed by, until we eventually came up with Wasted Penguinz. We looked at each other and instantly know this was it. It was an unusual name and basically that’s what we went for.

Whereas coming up with a name caused some challenges, it was the production part that immediately went for a successful takeoff. Moreover the men were completely in-sync on the style, a style that’s easy to identify by the first tone. “Euphoric hardstyle was our aim, and it still is. It doesn’t necessarily have to be lyrical: sound can do the trick too. Listen to ‘Melancholia’, which is about a never-ending state of depression.

Emotion
Emotion is the key to all of Wasted Penguinz’ records. ‘Melancholia’ and ‘Far from Reality’ for example immediately take you into a state of trance. The two men are both highly sensitive to those emotional impulses and one of their missions is to transcend this emotion to the crowd. “People often e-mail us saying that their deepest concerns, like a failed relationship, are being released into the music. We share the same experience.”

It is easy to link Wasted Penguinz to their source of inspiration, composer Hans Zimmer, whom is known for his compelling film music. “We really love listening to his music, because of the inspiration we get when producing our tracks. We both listen to a lot of different genres when it comes to music; from classical music to dance. Basically we’re open to anything, which is needed to get the creative process going.”

Increasing popularity
The specific sound of Wasted Penguinz spreads like oil across the entire planet and got them into the 75^th place of the DJ Mag Top 100; the most prestigious ranking for producers and DJ’s. If there’s anything that shows how popular the two are, it is this ranking.

Wasted Penguinz have become an increasing part of lineups of Dutch events. The May 12 2012 issue of Euphoria in Central Studios in Utrecht was the first B2S event that featured the duo, where they were scheduled to perform early in the evening, as they did during Hard Bass Reclamation.

The Hard Bass Reclamation opening was in the hands of Wasted Penguinz, Code Black, Zany and Noisecontrollers. It is their first event that hosted nearly 30,000 people at the same time. Working in a team is as new as the event itself. “It’ll be fun to work with the other guys. When everyone puts in their own sound in the set we’ll collectively work towards a diverse unity.”

Having a gig at Hard Bass fulfills another piece of that childhood dream. A dream Wasted Penguinz chased since the very start. “We want to encourage our fans to believe in their dreams, and to make it happen with everything you have. This is what brought us where we are now.”

Dit jaar wordt Hard Bass, door b2s in samenwerking met YouTube, voor het eerst live uitgezonden. In navolging van evenementen als Tomorrowland, Sensation & Ultra Music Festival Miami, wordt Hard Bass het eerstvolgende grote EDM evenement dat live wordt gestreamd op internet. Tevens heeft b2s met Hard Bass de primeur om, als eerste grote Hardstyle evenement, live gevolgd te kunnen worden. Zo kunnen liefhebbers uit het buitenland en degenen die hebben misgegrepen tijdens de ticketverkoop, toch meegenieten van Hard Bass: reclamation.

Voor deze livestream registratie worden alle registers opengetrokken. Via meerdere camera’s en vanuit verschillende hoeken wordt het evenement compleet in beeld gebracht. Ook kan je leuke behind the scenes reportages verwachten. De livestream start zaterdag 2 februari om 22.00 uur (10 pm CET) en eindigt 3 februari om 07.00 uur gelijktijdig met de laatste beats. The Hard Bass live stream is going to be completely shown by filming with multiple cameras and from different angles. The registration will also contain behind the scene footage. The Hard Bass: reclamation live stream starts at the 2nd of February at 10.00 pm (CET) and ends on the 3rd of February at 07.00 am, simultaneously with the last Hardstyle beats. Wie deze zal verzorgen, wordt later deze week exclusief via Twitter bekend gemaakt. De openingsshow start om 23.00 uur, dus zorg dat je op tijd bent en niks mist!

Hard Bass: reclamation is geheel uitverkocht! b2s raadt het af om via de zwarte markt tickets aan te schaffen, alle kaarten worden op echtheid gescand.

Door het bouwen van de twee enorme decks in de tribunes aan beide lange zijdes wordt er extra veel dansruimte gecreëerd. Deze decks zijn voor iedereen toegankelijk.

Merchandise
Er is speciaal voor Hard Bass: reclamation een merchandise lijn ontworpen. Deze producten zijn bij de b2s merchandise stand te koop. Je kunt hier met contant geld betalen, maar ook pinnen.

Livestream & On Demand
Hard Bass wordt dit jaar niet alleen live uitgezonden via b2s radio, maar ook middels een dikke video registratie via YouTube. Hiermee is Hard Bass: reclamation het eerste grote Hardstyle evenement dat dit verzorgt. Op deze manier kunnen de thuisblijvers of fans in het buitenland toch meegenieten!

Theme songs & CD
Dit jaar heeft Hard Bass niet 1 anthem, maar heeft iedere formatie zijn eigen theme song die de sound van die formatie vertegenwoordigt. De theme song van Green ken je al uit de trailer, deze is gemaakt door B-Freqz lid B-front. De theme songs zijn geproduceerd door:

Tijdens de nacht zullen er berichten, foto’s, audio & video’s worden geplaatst op verschillende social media van b2s. Houd ons dus goed in de gaten op Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Soundcloud en Google+, als je op de hoogte wil blijven van de gebeurtenissen tijdens Hard Bass: reclamation.

Magazine
Dit jaar verschijnt er een Hard Bass editie van het b2s magazine. In dit magazine zullen veel interessante dingen te lezen zijn omtrent artiesten en evenementen. Na afloop wordt dit gelimiteerde magazine uitgedeeld. Ga je niet naar Hard Bass of heb je misgegrepen en wil je het magazine toch graag lezen? Geen probleem, want het magazine wordt tijdens de nacht al online gezet!

Hard Bass App
Dit jaar wordt een Hard Bass applicatie gelanceerd voor verschillende type Smartphones. Download de App in iTunes of de Google Playstore. Je vindt er alle informatie over het evenement, plus de complete line-up met timetable.

Legitimatie
De minimumleeftijd is 18 jaar. Bij twijfel kan er aan de bezoeker gevraagd worden om zich te legitimeren. Neem daarom een geldig legitimatiebewijs mee zodat je geen risico loopt om op deze grond geweigerd te worden. Een rijbewijs, paspoort en Nederlandse identiteitskaart zijn geldige legitimatiebewijzen. Houd er rekening mee dat ook aan de bar om legitimatie gevraagd kan worden.

Lockers
Bij de entree bestaat de mogelijkheid tot het huren van lockers. Deze kunnen gebruikt worden om o.a. jassen en tassen in op te bergen. Een locker kost 6 euro en de borg bedraagt 5 euro, deze krijg je terug wanneer je de sleutel inlevert. In een locker passen ongeveer 3 jassen, dus deel er eentje met je vrienden. Het is niet mogelijk om tijdens het evenement naar je locker te gaan, voor VIP is dit wel mogelijk.

Camera’s
Iedereen mag zijn fototoestel, spiegelreflexcamera of videocamera mee naar binnen nemen. Maak vooral veel mooie foto’s en filmpjes en vergeet ze niet met ons te delen via social media! Professionele videoapparatuur is niet toegestaan zonder persaccreditatie.

Mobiel bereik
Tijdens Hard Bass komen tienduizenden bezoekers bij elkaar. Dit is een enorme extra druk op de zendmasten. Verschillende telecom aanbieders plannen daarom extra capaciteit in. Toch is het mobiele netwerk niet te garanderen. Houd hier rekening mee en spreek bijvoorbeeld met vrienden af op een vast tijdstip en plek.

Spullen meenemen
Eten en drinken mogen niet mee naar binnen. Volg je een speciaal dieet, zorg dan dat dit in afgesloten verpakking zit. Het is tevens toegestaan om medicatie mee te nemen mits ook dit in een gesloten verpakking zit. Ook dien je een doktersverklaring bij je te hebben.

Munten & pinnen
Bij de ingang en verspreid over de locatie bevinden zich diverse muntkassa’s en automaten. Bij iedere kassagroep is de mogelijkheid om te pinnen. Het is niet mogelijk om contant geld op te nemen. We raden je aan altijd voldoende contant geld mee te nemen naar het evenement.

Drugs
De organisatie conformeert zich aan het lokale beleid van de politie in Arnhem. Dit is ‘zero tolerance’, pas dus op met wat je meeneemt; er wordt zorgvuldig gevisiteerd onder toezicht van de politie.

Rookbeleid
In het GelreDome is het niet toegestaan om te roken, dit is alleen buiten mogelijk onder de Oost tribune. Hier is een verwarmde tent geplaatst.

Parkeren
Er zullen tijdens Hard Bass verschillende parkeerterreinen geopend zijn. Volg de borden ‘Parkeren GelreDome’. Voor meer informatie, het vooraf aanschaffen van parkeerkaarten en de routeplanning kun je hier terecht.

Bus
Indien je zelf geen vervoer hebt, kun je bij Event Travel een busreis boeken naar Hard Bass. Heb je zelf een bus geregeld, dan kun je deze hier voor een parkeerplaats aanmelden. Een parkeerplaats voor een touringcar kost 40 euro.

Openbaar vervoer
Het GelreDome is makkelijk te bereiken met het openbaar vervoer. Reis met de trein naar station Arnhem en vanaf daar verder met de pendelbus naar het GelreDome. Een retourkaartje kost 5 euro en is verkrijgbaar bij de opstapplaats. Voor meer informatie over het openbaar vervoer kun je terecht op www.9292.nl of bel naar 0900-9292 (€0,70 p.m.).

Let op!
Door werkzaamheden aan het spoor rijden in het weekend van 2 en 3 februari geen rechtstreekse treinen tussen Arnhem en Utrecht Centraal. Je kunt zowel op de heen- als de terugreis het beste via ‘s-Hertogenbosch reizen. Houd wel rekening met een langere reistijd.

NS zet op zondagochtend 3 februari extra treinen in. De treinen naar Utrecht Centraal en verder rijden via ‘s-Hertogenbosch, maar stoppen daar niet. Klik hier voor meer informatie over vertrekkende treinen.

Weer
Het kan ’s nachts flink koud worden, zorg er dus voor dat je warme kleding aanhebt als je aankomt en weggaat. Deze kun je opbergen in een kluisje.

Hard Bass: reclamation takes place at the 2nd of February from 22.00 pm ‘till 07.00 am. There will be a warming up set between 22.00 and 23.00. Which artist is going to perform, will be announced on our Twitter account later on this week. The opening show starts at 23.00, so make sure you’re on time and won’t miss anything!

Sold out
Hard Bass: reclamation is completely sold out! b2s advises not to buy tickets on the black market, because all tickets will be checked on authenticity.

As we informed earlier, the tickets that were offered ticket scalpers, are invalidated. Did you buy a ticket at the black market and do you want to know if it’s invalid? Check http://tickets.b2s.nl/cancellations to see if your ticket is still valid. Pay attention, because the list will be updated on a regular base.

VIP
The lucky visitors, who got a VIP ticket, have a few benefits compared to regular ticket buyers:

•          Access to the VIP stage & VIP area in the Galaxy

Entrance
Please pay attention! You can find the right entrance on your ticket (E, Q or VIP). Make sure you enter the GelreDome through the right entrance, because you can’t go inside through another one.

Decks
b2s created a large dance floor by building two enormous decks on the long sides of the Gelredome. These decks are accessible for every visitor.

Merchandise
Especially for Hard Bass: reclamation, b2s produced a merchandise line. The products are going to be sold at the b2s merchandise stand. You can pay with cash, bank card or credit card.

Livestream & On Demand
Hard Bass is not only being broadcasted on b2s radio this year, but also through a video registration at YouTube. With this, Hard Bass: reclamation is the first big Hardstyle event that is being broadcasted through livestream. Now, people who stay at home or fans in other countries can enjoy the full show as well!

There will be a Hard Bass edition of b2s magazine this year, which contains interesting items about artists and events. The magazine will be handed out at the end of Hard Bass. You are not going to Hard Bass or didn’t get the magazine and still want to read it? No problem, because the magazine is going to be published online during the night!

Hard Bass app
A Hard Bass app for different types of Smartphones is going to be launched this year. You can download the App at iTunes or the Google Playstore. The App contains all the information about the event, plus the complete line-up and timetable.

ID Cards
The minimum age for Hard Bass is 18 years. If there is any doubt, your ID card can be asked. Make sure you bring an acceptable ID Card, so you can’t be refused by this fact. A driving-license or passport is also a legal ID card. Keep in mind that your ID can also be checked at the bar.

Lockers
You can rent a locker at the entrance of the GelreDome. Lockers can be used for storing jackets and bags. Renting a locker costs 6 euro and the warranty is 5 euro, which you get back when you return the key. There is room for about three jackets in a locker, so share one with your friends. It’s not possible to return to your locker during Hard Bass, VIP does have access to their lockers at all time.

Cameras
Everyone can bring his camera or video camera to Hard Bass. Take nice pictures and videos and don’t forget to share them with us through social media! Professional video equipment is not allowed without a press pass.

Mobile service
During Hard Bass thousands of visitors come together. This brings a lot of extra pressure on the mobile towers. Different mobile phone suppliers planned extra capacity, but the mobile network can’t be guaranteed. Keep that in mind and make an agreement with your friends to meet at a certain time and place.

Food & medication
You can’t bring any food or drinks into the GelreDome. Are you on a special diet? Make sure your food is in closed packing. It’s also allowed to take medication, unless it’s in also in a closed package. Don’t forget to bring your doctor’s explanation.

Coins & paying with cash card
There are several coin desks and machines in the GelreDome. It’s possible to pay with a cash card at every desk, but it’s not possible to withdraw cash money. We recommend you to bring enough cash to the event.

Drugs
The organization confirms itself to the local policy of the police in Arnhem. This is ‘zero tolerance’, so be careful with carrying drugs; you will be searched by police.

Smoking policy
There is a non-smoking policy at the GelreDome. Smoking is only possible outside under the East deck; a heated tent will be placed there.

Parking
There are different parking areas opened at the GelreDome during Hard Bass. Follow the signs ‘Parkeren GelreDome’. Click here for more information about parking, buying a parking card and the route to the location.

Bus
You can subscribe your bus for a parking place here. A parking spot for a bus costs 40 euro.

Public transport
The GelreDome can be reached easily through public transport. If you travel by train, go to the Arnhem central station and take the bus to the GelreDome. A back and forth ticket costs 5 euro and is available at the boarding area. For more information about public trainsport visit www.9292.nl or call 0900-9292 (€0,70 p.m.).

Pay attention!
There will be no direct trains between Arnhem and Utrecht Centraal at the 2nd and 3rd of February, so you have to travel via ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Keep in mind that you’ll be traveling for a greater amount of time.

There will be extra trains leaving at sunday morning. Trains to Utrecht Centraal and further are driving via ‘s-Hertogenbosch, but won’t stop at the station. Click here for more information about leaving trains.

Weather
It can get quite cold at night, so make sure you wear warm clothes. You can store them in a locker.

This year something unique is going happen during Hard Bass, becaus it will be the first Hardstyle event ever that will be broadcast live on YouTube. b2s is doing this for the people who stay at home and the Hard Bass fans in other countries, so they can enjoy the full event as well. Next to that, Hard Bass will also be broadcast live via b2s radio.

Twee weken geleden werd bekend dat er een voetbalwedstrijd gepland was op 31 januari 2013 in het GelreDome Arnhem. Dit zou betekenen dat de opbouwperiode van Hard Bass beperkt zou worden. b2s kon hiermee uiteraard niet akkoord gaan en heeft samen met Q-dance (de medehuurder tbv Qlimax) een kort geding aangespannen tegen het GelreDome en Vitesse om toch een lange opbouwperiode te bewerkstelligen. Vandaag heeft de rechter de eisen van b2s toegewezen en bepaald dat de wedstrijd verplaatst moet worden. De kwaliteit van Hard Bass is dus niet in gevaar en b2s gaat er alles aan doen om een hele dikke editie weg te zetten zoals jullie gewend zijn

Two weeks ago it was announced that a football match was scheduled on the 31st of January 2013 at the Gelre Dome Arnhem. This meant that the Hard Bass construction period would be reduced. b2s couldn’t agree with this  off course and  filed together with Q-Dance ( the co-tenant for Qlimax) a lawsuit against the GelreDome and the football club Vitesse. Today, the court assigned the demands of b2s and determined that the match has to be moved. The quality of the Hard Bass event is not in danger and b2s will do everything to produce a brilliant edition as you expect from them.

Achter de schermen is b2s al een paar maanden bezig met de ontwikkeling van alle plannen voor dit stadion concept. Zo zal er deze editie gebruik worden gemaakt van de deck opstelling om bezoekers het optimale party gevoel te geven. Hierbij zorgen 2 enorme publieksdecks op de tribunes voor veel extra dansruimte in de GelreDome. Speciaal voor de VIP’s wordt het bovenste deel van de hoofdtribune gereserveerd en is er een extra area in de zogenoemde Galaxy. Deze VIP room staat in het teken van Hard Bass classics met Pila, Gizmo, Pavo, Lars Tindy, Zero-Gi en Francois.

On Saturday February 2, 2013 b2s will claim the GelreDome Arnhem with her biggest indoor event ‘Hard Bass’. Various carefully selected occasional formations will give their views on the present Hardstyle and provide an unforgettable night with the best beats & bass lines.

Behind the scenes, b2s has been busy with the development of all the plans for this stadium concept for a few months now. This edition decks will be used to make sure the visitors will get the optimal party feeling. Two enormous public decks on the stands will provide a lot of extra dancing space in the GelreDome. Especially for the VIPs the upper part of the grandstand is reserved and there will be an extra area called ‘Galaxy’. In this VIP room the Hard Bass classics will be represented with Pila, Gizmo, Pavo, Lars Tindy, Zero-Gi and Francois.

The presale starts on November 17, 2012 on 13:00 hours (1 PM). Tickets will be available at http://hardbass.tickets.b2s.nl. The very first tickets that are being sold will receive a free VIP upgrade. Of course there also are VIP tickets for sale. Hard Bass sells out faster every year so be quick.
